PHP Eats Rails for Breakfast

Despite the buzz around sexy new frameworks like Rails and Django, PHP is more dominant than ever. That's what guys from Ohloh site say, after they've indexed and analyzed over 3,000 projects and 220 million lines of source code.
The analysis is definitely interesting. They've compared number of new lines of code added, percentage of open source developers and number of new projects started, all in the period from 2001 to 2006. While there are more and more new lines of code that are written in PHP (see the picture), the other two metrics don't show that PHP dominates other languages.
